The Baobab (Adansonia digitata) is a remarkable tree, which
is a feature of the Northern Province of South Africa. From
20 to 25 meters in height, it is considered by the African
populations as the sacred tree.
Of an exceptional longevity, some Baobab can reach 2000 - 3000
years.
Africans nicknamed it the “pharmacist's tree” because it plays
a very important role in traditional medicine.
For the cosmetic uses, the fruit’s richness in sugars,

FOCUS on the Baobab fruit pulp components :
The baobab fruit pulp is extremely rich in phenolic such
as flavonoids, polyphenols, and vitamin C, which are very
powerful antioxidant compounds.
Therefore it protects the cellular and membrane structures
against damage.
By limiting evaporation and promoting water fixation,
sugars, proteins and amino acids, all present in the Baobab
fruit pulp extract, help to regulate the flow of water and
thus prevent dehydration of dry skin, which
provides a remedial action. It is
appreciated for dry and sensitive skincare products.
